Gold and Black Christmas table styling

I treated my Christmas guests to a black and gold styled Christmas table this year, which they all really enjoyed xI took these images on my iPhone to save time, but the quality is obviously not as good as my DSLR.

The details:-

1.  gold spray painted cutlery and wine glasses

2.  cutlery tied with black velvet ribbon

3.  black and gold Christmas crackers

4.  black tissue wrapped surprise gift for each guest

5.  gold table cloth which was actually a slightly stretchy fabric bought from my local fabric shop

6.  black round table mats

7.  centre-piece – gold vase with cream artificial flowers and gold and black butterflies attached

8.  black and gold butterflies scattered on the table together with black and gold Christmas tree baubles, some gold Lindt chocolate reindeer and some small Christmas votives

9.  black and gold name place cards and black paper napkins

Peg Doll Fairies

I’ve started work on some peg doll fairies for next Christmas!

There’s something timeless and whimsical about a homemade peg doll fairy you can hang in your Christmas tree.  I’m making them in sets of 5 so I can vary the designs and keep creating new versions.  I’ve completed a couple of sets already and they look really cute all lined up in an immaculate row in their matching outfits, like a chorus line or fancy show girls x

Advent Calendar

I thought I’d make an advent calender this year for the girls.  It measures 125 cm wide and 85 cm high and looks like it’s been crafted from a Yeti, which it hasn’t, of course.  I used three traditional Christmas shapes for the pockets – angel wings, stars and hearts.  Each pocket contains a chocolate treat and each shape has a chalkboard label pegged to it for each day of December going right through to Christmas eve.  It’s proved very popular x
