Thames Jubilee Pageant

On Sunday 3 June, over 1,000 vessels participated in a flotilla on the Thames river in London, from Battersea to Tower Bridge, as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

It was one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the river, with rowed boats, working boats and pleasure vessels of all shapes and sizes beautifully dressed and turned out in their finest rigs.

With a brief break in the rainy weather, I was able to enjoy and photograph the procession as it went by from one of the boats moored at Cadogan Pier. It was a very impressive sight, but I have to say the New Zealand Maoris were my favourite x
