Daytripping to Weymouth found me wandering around the Old Harbour and Weymouth’s spectacular beach front.  A beautiful stretch of golden sand, protected in its own bay, complete with donkey rides, Punch and Judy shows and a seafront land train.

I have a particular fondness for Weymouth as it is where my grandparents used to live and where I would visit them regularly as a small child.

The Esplanade dates back to Georgian times which is my favourite historical architectural period and there is a beautiful stretch of Georgian town houses which are now, for the most part, guest houses.

As if that’s not enough to enjoy you can step  into the back streets and enjoy the shops.  Some of the streets are narrow and cobbled with bunting strewn across them, so pretty and the little cafes and restaurants are so tempting.

Weymouth is a very popular tourist destination and it’s not hard to see why x
